WE GET IT -
Your alarm goes off and you're already late -body tense, mind racing, and running on empty. You're doing everything right — the gym, the sleep tracking, the early nights — and still feel like something's off.
At Unearth Remedy, we use Conscious Connected Breathwork to access what talking struggles to reach — the tension, the patterns, the emotional weight your body's been quietly carrying.
Think of us as the missing piece— grounded, science-backed, and built for people who've already tried everything else. You show up. You breathe. We take care of the rest.
This isn't meditation… It's not yoga... It's something else entirely…
Conscious Connected Breathwork is a guided breathing practice that uses a
continuous circular pattern — no pause between inhale and exhale — to shift your state.
It works directly with your nervous system, not around it.
No experience needed. No belief system required.
What is actually happening during a Conscious Connected Breathwork Session?
During a session, you are lying down, breathing in and out through your mouth, with a deep, full inhalation and a relaxed, effortless exhalation.
-
The continuous breathing pattern acts like cardio for your nervous system. Stored tension starts to shift — often showing up as tingling, temperature changes, or muscle release. Safe, temporary, and a sign something is actually moving.
-
Breathing at this depth for an extended period takes your analytical, overthinking brain offline. What's been sitting underneath — tension, stress, emotional weight — gets space to surface and move through you.
How it works:
Conscious Connected Breathwork (“CCB”) works through a "bottom-up" approach. Traditional talk therapy is "top-down," trying to fix the body by changing the thoughts. CCB goes the other way—it changes the body's chemistry and nervous system state to allow the mind to process and recover.
-
Vagus Nerve Stimulation
Deep, rhythmic diaphragmatic breathing activates the vagus nerve (your body’s primary signal for safety), which tells the body, "You are safe," switching it from a stressed "fight or flight" state into a more "rest and digest" state.
-
Altering Blood Chemistry
The drop in CO2 levels creates a temporary state of "respiratory alkalosis," which is actually a safe way to trigger the release of endorphins and neurotransmitters that alter your consciousness.
-
Somatic Release
By continually breathing, you keep the body engaged and prevent the mind from "closing up" or distracting you from uncomfortable feelings. This allows you to process emotions stored in the fascia and muscles.
Why it works, when everything else hasn’t…
-
The analytical mind (ego) is very good at rationalising and protecting you from pain, often keeping you stuck in the same stories. CCB bypasses this mechanism entirely — accessing what's been stored beneath the surface, the tension, the emotional weight, and the cycles that words and logic have never been able to reach.
-
CCB doesn't just ask you to think differently; it actually trains your nervous system to handle stress better. You are essentially teaching your body how to go from high-stress to high-relaxation on command.
-
Some people notice a shift after their first session. Others find it builds gradually — each session going a little deeper, resistance easing, things moving with more flow. There's no timeline and no benchmark to hit. What CCB offers is a practice, a tool. not a quick fix — and for most people, that's exactly what's been missing.
The Result
Most people leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more themselves than they have in a long time. Not because they were told what to feel. Because their body finally had the conditions to let go.

Meet Thea
Thea didn't find breathwork at a wellness retreat. She found it at rock bottom.
Years in a toxic corporate environment had left her burnt out, physically broken — suffering compartment syndrome in both calves — running on empty, disconnected, and unable to feel much of anything. She was doing everything the right way. Sport rehabilitation. Talk therapy. Showing up. And still drowning.
A friend gave her a ticket to a breathwork session. She went with nothing to lose. She cried for the first time in years. Her body released tension without anyone touching her. She left exhausted — and lighter than she'd been in years.
Five years and hundreds of personal sessions later, Unearth Remedy was built —
not as a business born from a trend, but as a space that didn't exist and needed to.

⭐ APPI Certified Pilates Instructor Practitioner - Matwork & Reformer
⭐ First Aid & CPR Certified
⭐ Ongoing education and research outside of facilitation
Not all breathwork is the same.
Not all facilitators are either.
Breathwork in Australia is largely unregulated. Anyone can complete a weekend course online and start facilitating sessions the following week — with no education in nervous system function, no understanding of how people respond differently, and no aftercare practice beyond the session itself.
That matters! Because when you're lying on a mat, breathing deeper than you have in years, and something starts to shift — who's in the room with you is everything.
Thea's 12-month, 400+ hour in-person certification isn't a credential listed for status. It exists because this work requires it. Add nine years of personal practice, a Pilates qualification rooted in anatomy, physiology and nervous system function, and a commitment to ongoing education — and you have a facilitator who understands what's happening in your body, can read the room in real time, and knows how to hold space without pushing you toward someone else's idea of what your session should look like.
No scripts. No forced outcomes. No performing wellness for content. Just rigorous, grounded, human work — every single session.
Don't take our word for it.

Thea has a warmth to her that instantly makes me feel safe and supported. Her ability to read my body and support me in releasing emotion through breathwork is incredible. I began my breathwork journey over a year ago, with great apprehension and some fear. When Thea welcomed me with a hug the first time I met her, I was instantly put at ease."

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Completely. Most people who come to one of our breathwork sessions have never done breathwork before. You don't need any experience, any preparation, or any idea of what to expect. You just need to show up — everything else is taken care of.
-
This is actually one of the most common things we hear — and one of the reasons CCB works so well for people who struggle with meditation. Breathwork is active, not passive. Your breath gives your mind something to do. You don't have to clear your thoughts or sit still. The pattern does the work for you.
-
Different for everyone. Some people experience tingling in their hands or face, temperature changes, or emotional release. Some feel deeply relaxed. Some feel very little in their first session and notice the difference in the days that follow. There's no right way to experience it — and nothing you're supposed to feel.
-
Yes — when facilitated by a qualified practitioner. Thea holds a 12-month, 400+ hour in-person certification and has been personally practicing since 2016. Every session requires you to review the medical contraindications that are not suitable for breathwork. We take these very seriously! If you have a medical or mental health history that may be relevant, please refer to the breathwork contraindications on our website before booking a session.
-
That's okay. Completely okay. Emotions moving through the body is part of the process — not a sign that something has gone wrong. Breathwork is an amazing tool to support your emotional health and becoming more comfortable expressing your emotions over time. Thea holds the space without judgement and without pushing you toward anything. Whatever happens in the room is yours.
-
Just yourself and a bottle of water. A yoga mat, bolster, and blanket are provided. Wear comfortable clothing you can lie down in. Avoid a heavy meal in the two hours before your session to avoid a possible upset stomach.
-
Thea walks you through what to expect in the hours and days that follow before you leave — emotional movement, fatigue, and clarity are all common. A follow-up check-in email lands in your inbox within 24 hours. You won't be left to process it alone.
-
We hear this more than you'd think. Bad experiences usually come down to one thing — a facilitator who pushed clients toward a particular outcome, used a script regardless of what the room needed, or simply wasn't qualified to hold the space properly. Thea doesn't work from a script. She reads the room, adapts in real time, and will never push you toward an experience that isn't yours. If you've been burned before, reach out before booking — we're happy to talk it through.

Yes. Private 1:1 breathwork sessions are available for those who prefer a more personal setting or want to go deeper at their own pace. Get in touch to find out more.
Still got a question?
Reach out before you book. We'd rather answer it than have you talk yourself out of something that might genuinely help.
